The Métis sash is a colourful finger-woven belt that is usually three-meters long. It is sometimes referred to as L'Assomption sash or Ceinture Fléchée (arrow sash). The sash was used by the Voyageurs of the fur trade and was quickly adopted by their Métis sons.
 
This is a custom made Family Red River Metis Sash with parent's and children's life like weaved thru sash. Most sashes are red but they can be any color. 
 
Sash is 8 feet long, hand made on a loom, the ends are braided and a bead (color of your choice) on braided end. All sashes are smudged and blessed.
